The Ultimate Secret

Introduction

In 1977 New York attorney Peter A. Gersten brought suit in the US District Court of the District of Columbia on behalf of Ground Saucer Watch, an Arizona based UFO organization. The lawsuit was against the Central Intelligence Agency pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act. Gersten demanded the release of classified UFO related documents. Pursuant to the lawsuit, the CIA in 1979 released over 900 pages of documents relating to the UFO phenomenon. But they refused to release 57 documents, claiming national security considerations.

On June 24,1980 Gersten brought suit in the same District Court against the National Security Agency but this time on behalf of his own recently formed organization, Citizens Against UFO Secrecy (CAUS). His objective was 135 UFO related documents the NSA had refused to release. On November 18, 1980, based upon a NSA top secret affidavit which Gersten was not allowed to see, US District Court Judge Gerhard A. Gesell dismissed the lawsuit stating that ‘the continued need for secrecy far out weighed the public’s right to know.’

After Gersten’s appeal to the US Court of Appeals was denied in 1981, he brought a Writ of Certiorari to the US Supreme Court. On March 8,1982, four and one-half years after the first lawsuit, the Supreme Court refused to entertain the Writ, thereby precluding Gersten from obtaining the documents through legal channels.

The Ultimate Secret begins on June 24,1997, the fiftieth anniversary of the UFO phenomenon. It is exactly 50 years since Kenneth Arnold’s sighting of nine UFOs over Mt. Rainier, the date historically attributed to the beginning of the UFO phenomenon. UFO sightings and alien abductions still persist. Crop circles and ancient artifacts on the moon and Mars still go unexplained. The government still refuses to acknowledge the reality of the evidence for extraterrestrial contact. And the origin and purpose of this contact is still unknown. It is also fifteen years since the Supreme Court decision forever denying Gersten legal access to the classified UFO documents and the documents are still being withheld. The following is a true story of the future efforts of attorney Peter A. Gersten to obtain the release of this information.

The Ultimate Secret is based upon actual events that have occurred during the fifty year history of the UFO phenomenon. The theories advanced as to the origin and purpose of UFOs, alien abductions, crop circles and ancient artifacts can be supported by evidence.

The Ultimate Secret is about the disappearance of a Supreme Court Justice, an extraordinary criminal trial, the suspension of constitutional rights, the return of the ‘ancient ones’ and the eventual planetary transformation. It is also about a sinister group called the Cosmic Circle and their diabolical and terrifying plan.

Episode 1

JUNE 24, 1947 no changes

JUNE 24, 1997 *changes are in parenthesis **new time period

*10:00 AM. US Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor is in her home in Phoenix, Arizona. She is preparing for a speaking engagement before the (Arizona Bar Association’s annual convention.) A limousine is scheduled to pick her up at 11:00 AM. with the luncheon to begin at noon. As she puts the last few pages of her talk in her briefcase, her thoughts are about a very important case that will be argued before the Court soon. Little did she realize the ominous connection between today’s speaking engagement and this case. She reaches for the Arizona Republic to check her horoscope. ‘Well now…look at this’ she ponders. It is a good day to be near water. The Justice was a double Aries…and would soon become intricately involved with a double Pisces.

10:25 AM. An individual with blond hair and blue eyes, dressed in black clothing and driving a black limousine, arrives at the Justice’s home. He introduces himself as George and tells her that, although he is thirty minutes early, he is there to escort her to the luncheon. The Justice notices how extremely handsome he is. But his voice…it is unusual. It is almost melodic.

*10:47 AM. (As Justice O’Connor is about to enter the limousine she hears the telephone ring. She thinks about going back inside to answer it, but decides she will get the message when she returns.) As she enters the limousine she notices the interesting license plate with the one word…CAUS. While in the back seat, she becomes surprisingly tired and within 2 minutes is asleep. Several days later the FBI will find traces of the general anesthetic Metaketamine in the limousine.

**10:48 AM. After about ten rings, Crayzlaydi hangs up the telephone. She was an avid reader of The Ultimate Secret and was on Gersten’s AOL mailing list. After having e-mailed Gersten on several occasions over the last few months, she wasn’t sure if it was or was not ‘a true story that takes place in the future.’ But she was taking no chances… she was calling Justice O’Connor’s home to warn her just in case. As she hangs up the telephone she is no closer to learning the truth then she was before she decided to become involved. Little did she realize that in less than 12 hours she will have wished that she never had heard about, let alone read, The Ultimate Secret.

12:21 PM. Justice O’Connor has not appeared for her speaking engagement. AFW officials notify the FBI after numerous attempts to determine her whereabouts fail.

**1:00 PM. BufoCalvin calls the FBI and asks them if a Supreme Court Justice has disappeared. He is placed on hold and after 10 minutes hangs up.

1:46 PM. Justice O’Connor awakens in an unusual looking room. She is slightly disoriented and has difficulty standing. Before she has a chance to think about her situation, she hears a melodic voice coming from an intercom: ‘Good afternoon Justice O’Connor’ There is no place for you to go. You are not allowed out. No harm will come to you. You will be treated well if you do not resist. You will be staying with us for a day or two depending on your cooperation. (there is a computer near you.). Next to the computer is a piece of paper with ten dates. The meaning of each date can be found in the software program called Pisces. The authorities will be notified of your whereabouts when you correctly match each of the ten dates with its appropriate event. If there is anything that you need please use the intercom.’

1:57 PM. Justice O’Connor looks around. She notices that the room, although small, is comfortable. There is a bathroom with a shower and the necessary toiletries. In a closet she finds several robes and outfits in her size.

2:56 PM. The FBI begins a search for the black limousine. Over fifty agents are assigned to the Justice’s disappearance. Months later in front of a jury, Peter Gersten will argue that thousands of people have reported being abducted by extraterrestrials, but not one FBI agent has been assigned to investigate any such claim.

*4:00 PM. Miriam Szapiro, CNN’s legal analyst, checks her e-mail. There is a message from ‘an old friend.’ It reads “US Supreme Court Justice Sandra O’Connor did not appear for her scheduled appearance before (the Arizona Bar Association’s convention) today. The FBI is currently searching for a black limousine.”

**5:30 PM. Sweptawayy calls CNN and asks to speak to Miriam Szapiro. Szapiro is busy preparing her 6:30 Supreme Court Justice disappearance story and is unavailable. ‘Would you like to leave a message’ the receptionist asks. Sweptawayy pauses a moment, ‘Yes, just tell her I know what the 10 dates are’ she answers.

*5:45 PM. The FBI receives (a telephone call from Ultimate Secret reader [deleted because of privacy] who asks to speak to special agent Clark. She informs him about the story being serialized over the internet. She also informs him that in the story) the black limousine license # CAUS (is found) at the meteorite crater near Flagstaff, Arizona.

*6:05 PM. The FBI searches the black limousine. Inside is discovered a crumbled paper with (eleven) dates: June 24, 1947; July 19, 1952; January 14, 1953; October 11, 1973; October 30; 1975; November 5, 1975; January 6, 1976; September 19, 1976; November 18, 1980; March 8, 1982; and (December 20, 1999.)

*6:15 PM. Justice O’Connor receives her dinner passed through an opening in (her) door. The dinner consists of two lobster tails, broccoli, rice and a glass of white wine. Dessert is a piece of apple pie. Though her dinner looks appetizing, she is not particularly hungry this evening.

6:30 PM. Szapiro breaks the story of the missing Supreme Court Justice on the CNN evening news.

**6:45 PM. Within 15 minutes of Szapiro’s news story Gavin696, Dr.Ufolgist, Valeriie, and three readers of IUFO separately call the FBI and CNN to tell them about the similarities with the internet story, The Ultimate Secret. And in the FBI office Zechel calls out ‘I think we better have a closer look at The Ultimate Secret…what was that website again’

**6:50 PM. Szapiro calls Sweptawayy and is told about The Ultimate Secret and that it can be found on the Timeless Journeys web site. It was in May that Gersten had created the site due to the overwhelming interest in the net serial

*7:02 PM. The FBI investigation continues. A special agent announces that the limousine was leased to a person named George Adamski. (‘Just like in the story’ Zechel announces to no one in particular.)

8:10 PM. Justice O’Connor slowly walks over to the computer…and searches for the Pisces program.

Dear Readers of The Ultimate Secret:

On or about April 12th I informed you that ‘the serialization (of The Ultimate Secret on the internet) has changed the TimeLine of the original story….and my new ‘messages’ reflect these changes. The changes involve and include the readers of The Ultimate Secret. The readers, or at least some of you, have included yourselves in the story by becoming involved.’

In the past month and a half many more people have become readers of The Ultimate Secret…. thereby increasing the probability of a TimeLine contamination. It is now May 31st and I am informing you that the second TimeLine has now changed also…due to extensive reader involvement. The following is the new TimeLine for June 24, 1997…the day our story began:

JUNE 24, 1997

8:30 AM. US Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor is in her home in Phoenix, Arizona. She is preparing for a speaking engagement before the Arizona Bar Association’s annual convention. There is a knock at her door. “I wonder who that can be this early?’ she thinks as she looks through the peephole. ‘Good day Justice O’Connor, we are from the FBI’ comes a voice from the other side of the door. The Justice opens the door and finds two gentlemen dressed in blue suits. ‘I am special agent Zechel and this is my partner special agent Clark. May we come in please?’ After checking their identification…she lets them in.

8:45 AM. Inside the Justice’s home Zechel informs her that ‘over the past three weeks the FBI has been receiving numerous telephone calls concerning a story that is appearing over the internet. The name of the story is The Ultimate Secret. Have you heard of it?’ After the Justice answers in the negative, Zechel continues. ‘This story started on March 16th and is characterized by the author as a true story that takes place in the future…June 24th, today, to be exact. According to the story, you will be abducted in about an hour.’ As the Justice listens incredulously, Zechel tells her about the storyline and the fact that the FBI is taking no chances that there might be a real threat made against her. ‘We have 35 agents in the area’ declares Zechel. ‘But my address is a private matter. No one knows where I live.’ Justice O’Connor nervously states. ‘Not true’ responds Clark. ‘Your address was circulated over a UFO mailing list at the end of May. We will be keeping you company for awhile…just in case.’

9:15 AM. Miriam Szapiro and a CNN crew arrive in a van and park 100 feet from Justice O’Connor’s home. Szapiro, over the past week, had also been called by dozens of people telling her about The Ultimate Secret. Because of their sincerity, she had decided to checkout the internet story. And now there is no way she can be left out of possibly one of the most important media events of all time. This is history in the making and no matter the outcome…she is there to film it.

9:22 AM. NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, Newsweek, Time, New York Times, Arizona Republic, Strange Universe, Washington Post, Hard Copy, Dateline NBC, and twelve other media groups arrive within minutes of each other and fight for key observation points. The Ultimate Secret readers had been active and enthusiastic…and left no publicity stone unturned. Eight of the readers were paid for the news leads…and the amounts ranged from $200 to $5000 depending on the astuteness of each reader.

9:28 AM. On a formerly private and secluded street in Phoenix, you can’t tell the FBI special agents from the mob of media representatives. And scattered throughout the crowd with their own video cameras and tape recorders are countless…Ultimate Secret readers.

10:25 AM. As a black limousine arrives and stops in front of the Justice’s home, a multitude of media with cameras and microphones surround it. Not far behind is the reason for the near riot conditions…you…the interactive fans of The Ultimate Secret.

10:26 AM. Out of a fear of losing control of the situation, special agents Zechel and Clark rush out of the Justice’s residence, and with the help of other agents, separate the crowd around the limousine. The driver is immediately taken into custody, placed in an unmarked vehivle and taken to FBI headquarters in Phoenix…as reporters and onlookers snap pictures and record the bizarre event.

10:59 AM. At FBI headquarters the limousine driver is given his Miranda warnings. Though told he does not have to answer any questions, he nervously tells the agents that he has nothing to hide. In front of a video camera, as a legal stenographer records his every word, he tells special agent Zechel that he is employed by Mirage Limousine in Phoenix. ‘Hey, I am just a working guy trying to make a buck. All I know is that I was to pick up some woman at the address given to me and take her to a certain place’ states the blond hair and blue eyed driver. “And…and….and I am supposed to give her this piece of paper’ he continues as he reaches into his pocket.

11:42 AM. Special agent Zechel telephones Mirage Limousine and is told that the job order came in two days earlier. ‘According to the paperwork the client gave his name as George Adamski and paid cash in advance. We were supposed to pick her up at her home in Phoenix and take her to another location in Phoenix. The only other instruction was to give her the piece of paper Adamski left with us.’ states the manager. Zechel starts to unfold the paper the driver had given to him. “We will be down to see you in a little while’ Zechel tells the manager as he glances over the, now familiar, 12 dates. ‘I should have been a doctor like my mother wanted’ is his only thought.

12:21 PM. Within two hours, the morning’s events as well as the storyline of The Ultimate Secret are broadcast by the networks and picked up by their affiliates…and heard throughout the planet.

1:39 PM. FBI special agent Fred Oberg enters the office of Mirage Limousine. Oberg shows the manger 6 photographs and asks him if he recognizes any of the pictures. ‘Yup, that’s him…that’s Adamski’ states the manager, pointing to picture #4. There is one word on the back of picture #4….Gersten.

1:32 PM. The bandwagon is filling quickly. Hundreds of people, having information about The Ultimate Secret, or who know or have corresponded with Gersten, contact the various media organizations. Financial reward is the motivation.

3:10 PM. FBI agents execute a search warrant on Gersten’s apartment in Scottsdale. Gersten is present and placed under arrest for attempted kidnapping, attempted hostage taking and attempted terrorism. The FBI seize a computer and several discs, including The Ultimate Secret, thirty three files, photographs, letters, a journal, bank statements, a photo of Gersten with Sandra Day O’Connor and a Timeless Journeys’ framed poster, containing the Celestial Compass of Atlantis, from Gersten’s bedroom. Though not authorized by the warrant, they also seize an erotic story by AOL reader JBPixie and nude photos of six Ultimate Secret readers.

4:44 PM. Based upon Gersten’s computer discs, FBI agents throughout the country start rounding up readers of The Ultimate Secret who have e-mailed Gersten about the story. Many will be suspected of conspiring with Gersten…and fifteen will be arrested for obstruction of justice when they refuse to cooperate.

Once again reader involvement has caused a change in the TimeLine….and this time the involvemnet does prevent Justice O’Connor’s disappearance. But since Gersten is still arrested, the story continues…but with a twist. In the new TimeLine, since Justice O’Connor is not kidnapped, it is not necessary for her to testify at Gersten’s trial. It should be remembered that Gersten was only arrested for the attempt to commit certain crimes. Since The Ultimate Secret is pleasantly more puzzling with Justice O’Connor testifying at Gersten’s trial, (especially her cross-examination) I will the continue the present TimeLine, in which her disappearance did take place…instead of with the new TimeLine.

Thank you for your understanding and enjoy the trial. Because of your actions The Ultimate Secret is no longer a true story that takes place in the future..though I am sure that in at least one other TimeLine…it is a true story that takes place in the past.

Episode 2

On June 25, 1947 there were 13 reported sightings. Most of the sightings took place in the western states. Three of these sightings occurred after dark. Six are multiple object reports, four of which describe two UFOs. At least 19 people witnessed these unusual objects. In Colorado, a housewife saw two oval shaped objects traveling at high speed while in Oregon a witness reported seeing two disc shaped objects. Fifty years later…a new adventure continues.

JUNE 25, 1997

9:00 AM. Justice O’Connor is awakened by the sound of her name on a CNN broadcast coming from a television above her bed. According to a CNN report, the FBI still has no clues as to her whereabouts or the reason for her disappearance. On the way to the bathroom, she notices the fresh fruit, cereal, muffins and a pot of coffee brewing on a table near the computer. She considers the possibility that these last two days are a lucid dream.

10:24 AM. CNN reporter Miriam Szapiro receives a second e-mail from ‘an old friend.’ It reads “The following ten dates were found on a paper recovered from the limousine…………” She contacts the FBI for verification. The FBI refuses to discuss their investigation, refuses to confirm or deny the existence of the paper, but asks her not to mention the dates on CNN.

12:00 PM. The FBI investigation continues. Intelligence sources are consulted. Known terrorist groups are monitored. And the usual suspects are brought in for questioning. All without results.

12:05 PM. Szapiro begins her own investigation into the dates. She scans CNN’s archives for any similarities, but has no idea what she is looking for. ’Why does November 18, 1980 sound familiar’ she wonders. As she thinks about what she was doing on that day, her computer announces that she has mail. “The limousine was leased to George Adamski” reads the message from “an old friend.”

12:30 PM. CNN continues to be broadcast in Justice O’Connor’s cabin. ‘Nice of them to keep me informed on my own disappearance’ she thinks. She has been working at the computer for several hours. It was keeping her mind occupied and, though reluctant to admit it, the subject matter was fascinating. The Pisces program was a 50 year history of the UFO phenomenon, including photos, eye witness reports, government documents and court records. The first date on her list was easy to find. June 24, 1947…the date of Kenneth Arnold’s famous sighting.

1:10 PM. A CNN researcher enters the newsroom with a file on George Adamski. ‘I hope this is the correct file’ he exclaims excitedly, ‘because this George Adamski died over twenty years ago.’ Szapiro looks over the file and comes face to face with the UFO phenomenon for the second time in her life. Twenty years earlier, while working in the Brooklyn District Attorneys office as a paralegal , she met a young assistant DA who had an unusual attraction to UFOs.

2:00 PM. Szapiro broadcasts a CNN special report. ‘CNN has exclusively learned that the disappearance of Justice Sandra Day O’Connor has taken a bizarre turn…on a UFO.’

4:00 PM. Geraldo Rivera’s talk show theme is ‘terrorism in America, is no one immune?’ His staff is busy working on the next day’s show ‘Who was George Adamski?’

7:23 PM. Szapiro receives a call from ace UFO researcher Robert Todd. He tells her the significance of most of the ten dates.

8:05 PM. Szapiro, after verifying some of the information, telephones the FBI and tells special agent Jerrold Clark that the dates are all related to significant events in the fifty year history of the UFO phenomenon. As Clark is about to tell her that she is a victim of a practical joke, special agent T. Walter Zechel comes into the room. Zechel drops some newspapers on the desk. The top newspaper’s headline dated March 9, 1982 reads ‘UFO data is kept secret by Supreme Court.’

9:00 PM. TV viewers and radio listeners are overwhelmed with UFO related stories. George Adamski, the first and best known of the UFO contactees, is receiving more media attention in this one night than he did in the early 50s when he persistently maintained that he was taken by a UFO to the moon and Venus where he saw and photographed alien cities.

10:01 PM. Justice O’Connor decides it is time for her to sleep after having spent most of the day becoming familiar with the secret CIA sponsored Robertson Panel which began its evaluation of the UFO phenomenon on January 14, 1953. It appears to her that the conclusions of the panel, which were inconsistent with the evidence presented, were directly responsible for the policy of ridicule and denial that appeared to have discouraged the public’s study of the phenomenon ever since.

10:15 PM. In Washington DC a communication is sent to a vast secret underground complex in Antarctica. The communication: “Saturn is in Aries” will later be communicated to ten other persons spanning over one half of the planet. The communication is telepathic.

*9:00 AM. Justice O’Connor is awakened by the sound of her name on a CNN broadcast coming from a television above her bed. According to a CNN report, the FBI, (based upon a story called The Ultimate Secret is looking for her on Lake Powell in Arizona.) (“That’s strange’ she thinks, ‘It doesn’t feel like I am on a boat.’) On the way to the bathroom, she notices the fresh fruit, cereal, muffins and a pot of coffee brewing on a table near the computer. She considers the possibility that these last two days are a lucid dream.

*10:24 AM. CNN reporter Miriam Szapiro receives a second e-mail from ‘an old friend.’ “The following (eleven) dates were found on a paper recovered from the limousine…………” (She is astonished. I can’t believe it…its just like in the story. What in hell is Gersten up to?’ she wonders.)

*12:00 PM. The FBI investigation continues. (There is no need to look elsewhere. Gersten becomes the target of their investigation.)

*12:05 PM. (As Szapiro once again checks out the internet serial,) her computer announces that she has another e-mail. “The limousine was leased to George Adamski” states the message from “an old friend.” (‘No shit, Gersten’ she exclaims.)

12:30 PM. CNN continues to be broadcast. ‘Nice of them to keep me informed on my own disappearance’ she thinks. She has been working at the computer for several hours. * (From June 27) 1:30 PM. Special agent Zechel enters the Stoneham, Massachusetts office of CAUS and executes a search warrant. CAUS’ deputy director Barry Greenwood, on being asked about Gersten’s whereabouts, informs the FBI that he hasn’t spoken to Gersten in several days. But he believes that Gersten will be holding a press conference (on June 28th) at the press club in Washington, DC. Hundreds of documents and photographs are seized by the FBI. (Zechel asks Greenwood where the secret drawer is…the one discussed in The Ultimate Secret. ‘I have no idea what you are talking about’ replies Greenwood with a straight face.)

* (From June 27) 1:55 PM. After the FBI leaves CAUS’ office, Greenwood removes a file from a secret (closet) and places it in his briefcase

*2:00 PM. Szapiro broadcasts a CNN special report. ‘CNN has exclusively learned that the disappearance of Justice Sandra Day O’Connor has taken a bizarre turn…on a UFO.’ (She had thought about not using the exact words attributed to her in The Ultimate Secret…but for some strange reason she did.)

*4:00 PM. Geraldo Rivera’s talk show theme is (‘who was George Adamski?’ Earlier that day AOL reader RavenDeer had called him and received $5000 for turning him on to The Ultimate Secret. She would have settled for half…just to see if he was as good as his reputation.)

9:00 PM. TV viewers and radio listeners are overwhelmed with UFO related stories. Episode 3

On June 26, 1947 there were eight more reported UFO sightings, six of them from the Utah-Arizona area and one each in Oklahoma and Illinois. All were daylight observations, except the one in Illinois, which is the only multiple-object report in the group. At 2:00 AM a large fireball broke into two dozen small discs. The sightings involved a total of 13 witnesses.

JUNE 26, 1997

8:59 AM. Justice O’Connor is again at the computer. She stops what she is working on as a video of the 1982 HBO documentary ‘America Undercover: UFO Cover-up’ is played on the television above her bed. A lawyer is describing his unsuccessful attempt to get the US Supreme Court to listen to a FOIA case involving UFOs. She had awakened two hours ago to get an early start on her assignment. ‘Is it possible that I could go home today’ she wondered. She recalls July 1952. She was a Deputy County Attorney in California. And she does have a faint recollection of front page newspaper stories about dozens of UFOs observed, both on radar and visually, over the nation’s capitol. ‘Sure enough, here it is, July 19, 1952’ she exclaims as she types the information from the Pisces program next to the second date.

9:01 AM. The White House, National Security Agency, Central Intelligence Agency, Department of Defense, NASA and US Supreme Court receive the following hand delivered message:

‘Enclosed is our Planetary Appeal. Please comply with our directions. Justice Sandra Day O’Connor is safe, secure and well. The announcement of her location depends on your cooperation.

PLANETARY APPEAL

There is undeniable and conclusive evidence that this planet is in contact with an extraterrestrial intelligence. The ‘crop circles’ with their cryptic messages; the ‘ancient artifacts’ on the moon and Mars with their eternal messages; the persistent sightings of ‘UFOs’ with their hidden messages; and the continual reports of ‘alien abductions’ with their frightful messages, provide overwhelming evidence of this contact…contact that can no longer be ignored.

The time has come for our government to confirm, what millions of people have already experienced, contact with an extraterrestrial intelligence. Our ‘intelligence’ agencies have been collecting evidence of the presence of an extraterrestrial intelligence for over 50 years. June 24, 1997 marks the 50th anniversary of the UFO phenomenon. The time has come to lift the veil of secrecy. We have an absolute and unconditional right to know the truth.

We hereby appeal to the President of the United States, the United States Supreme Court, the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency, the National Aeronautics and Space Agency; and any other known or unknown applicable agency to comply with the following directions:

that the Mars Pathfinder, on its scheduled landing on Mars on July 4, 1997, be directed to the Cydonia region and transmit live photographs and video recordings of any and all artificial artifacts including, but not limited to, the ‘face’ and ‘pyramids’ of Mars;
that the Hubble Space Telescope be turned in the direction of the Sinus Medi area on the Moon and transmit live photo and video evidence of any and all artificial artifacts;
that the 57 UFO related CIA documents being withheld pursuant to GSW v. CIA, Civil Action No. 80-1705 be immediately released in their entirety without any deletions;
that the 135 UFO related NSA documents being withheld pursuant to CAUS v. NSA, Civil Action No. 80-1562 be immediately released in their entirety without any deletions;
that all information on the meaning, interpretation, significance, and message of the numerous ‘crop circles’ be immediately released;
that all information on ‘alien abductions’ be immediately released;
that all information on ‘cattle mutilations’ be immediately released; and
that all information of any past, present or future contact with any and all extraterrestrial intelligence be immediately released.
We can no longer trust that the governments of this planet will tell us the truth. We have been deceived and we are continuing to be deceived. We can no longer allow this to continue. We must now join together.’

‘Without truth there is no justice…and without justice there is no freedom’

HUMANS OF PLANET EARTH (H.O.P.E.)

9:10 AM. The top twenty media organizations receive e-mail of the Planetary Appeal.

9:22 AM Regular programming is interrupted on all of the major networks and radio stations with announcements of the Planetary Appeal. CNN, Fox and NBC discuss the individual directions in the Appeal. Surprisingly, ABC has an exclusive interview with Chief Justice William Rehnquist. Remarkably Justice Rehnquist admits that the Supreme Court made a mistake in not hearing CAUS’ Writ of Certiorari in 1982. According to Rehnquist: ‘government’s intentional violation of the public’s right to know inalienable and universal truths by the use of deception is within the purview of judicial review.’

10:45 AM. Reporters gather outside NASA director Dan Goldin’s office in Florida. In eight days the Mars Pathfinder will land on Mars and the Surveyer rover will make its way over the Martian surface. Most of the reporters have one primary question: ’Will that surface include Cydonia?’

11:30 AM. A meeting takes place between the President’s liaison for Science & Technology and the representatives of the FBI, CIA, NSA, NASA, Department of Defense, National Reconnaissance Office, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The topic of discussion is the Planetary Appeal, specifically the issues relating to the Hubble Space Telescope and the Mars Pathfinder. The opinion is divided as to the proper position to take. But the consensus of those attending is that no information nor documents will be released. Plausible denial is the standard policy. Justice O’Connor’s disappearance is not mentioned at the meeting.

12:12 PM. The meeting is over. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral B.S.Maccabee, is concerned about the extensive media attention on extraterrestrial contact. It was starting to make him anxious and he believed that if left uncontrolled, it could disrupt the ‘status quo.’ On his way out of the conference room, the President’s liaison informs him that the President wishes to read all classified documents relating to extraterrestrial contact. ‘Why doesn’t that fool leave well enough alone’ was his reaction to the request.

8:59 AM. Justice O’Connor is again busy at the computer. She stops what she is working on as a video of the 1982 HBO documentary ‘America Undercover: UFO Cover-up’ is played on the television above her bed. A lawyer was describing his unsuccessful attempt to get the US Supreme Court to listen to a FOIA case involving UFOs. ‘Sure enough, here it is, July 19, 1952’ she exclaims as she types the information from the Pisces program on to the answer sheet next to the second date.

*9:01 AM. The White House, National Security Agency, Central Intelligence Agency, Department of Defense, NASA and US Supreme Court receive (an autographed copy of The Ultimate Secret….with the folowing message: ‘

Enclosed is a copy of The Ultimate Secret. We call your attention to Episode 3. Please comply with the directions in the Planetary Appeal.) Justice Sandra Day O’Connor is safe, secure and well. The announcement of her location depends on your cooperation.’

*9:22 AM Regular programming is interrupted on all of the major networks and radio stations with announcements of (The Ultimate Secret and) the Planetary Appeal. CNN, Fox and NBC discuss the individual directions in the Appeal. Surprisingly, ABC has an exclusive interview with Chief Justice William Rehnquist. Remarkably, Rehnquist admits that the Supreme Court made a mistake in not hearing CAUS’ Writ of Certiorari in 1982. According to Rehnquist: ‘government’s intentional violation of the public’s right to know inalienable and universal truths by the use of deception, is within the purview of judicial review.’

10:45 AM. Reporters gather outside NASA director Dan Goldin’s office in Florida. In eight days the Mars Pathfinder will land on Mars and the Surveyer rover will make its way over the Martian surface. Most of the reporters have one primary question: ‘Will that surface include Cydonia?’

*11:30 AM. A meeting takes place between the President’s liaison for Science & Technology and the representatives of the FBI, CIA, NSA, NASA, Department of Defense, National Reconnaissance Office, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The topic of discussion is the Planetary Appeal, specifically the issues relating to the Hubble telescope and the Mars Pathfinder. The opinion is divided as to the proper position to take. But the consensus of those attending is that no information nor documents will be released. Plausible denial is the standard policy. Justice O’Connor’s disappearance is not mentioned at the meeting. (Surprisingly, The Ultimate Secret is also not mentioned. It would seem that denial need not be logical.)

*12:12 PM. (Little did he realize that he had used those exact same words in The Ultimate Secret.)

Episode 4

On June 27, 1947 the number of sightings rose to at least 19. Eight were from New Mexico. Daylight sightings accounted for 15 of the reports. In Bisbee, Arizona a retired US Army major witnessed 8-9 discs traveling a high speed in a line formation. A housewife in Seattle observed two or three oval discs fluttering for about 5 minutes

JUNE 27, 1997

6:00 AM. In a massive underground complex in Antarctica, the twelve members of the Cosmic Circle gather. In only fifty-three years the Cosmic Circle had achieved what no other group in recorded history had been able to do…total and absolute control of the planet. The group was totally immoral…and when they discovered the secrets of lost Atlantean technology they became virtually invulnerable. Their only weakness was something they feared most…something they believed was inevitable. And that something was on its way…but the Cosmic Circle had even anticipated that possibility. Today’s meeting is to discuss a plan so deceptively diabolical that it will influence human evolution forever.

9:03 AM. Special agent Clark enters the Seguin, Texas headquarters of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), the largest and oldest UFO organization. On being questioned, MUFON’s director Walter Andrus, acknowledges the existence of an organization called Citizens Against UFO Secrecy (CAUS) and that it’s director, attorney Peter Gersten, was in the late 70s involved in Freedom of Information Act litigation against the government. Andrus states that Gersten is now living in Arizona and has written a story called ‘The Ultimate Secret.’ According to Andrus, ‘it is about the disappearance of a Supreme Court Justice by a UFO group thereby focusing worldwide attention on the extraterrestrial presence.’

10:30 AM. The FBI’s investigation into the whereabouts of Justice O’Connor has led nowhere. The attention now shifts from finding Justice O’Connor to locating Gersten…and the manhunt begins.

2:28 PM. Justice O’Connor has just finished her assignment. The October 30, 1975 sighting of a strange UFO over a sensitive nuclear weapons storage area at Loring AFB in Maine reminded O’Connor of ‘a show of force’ similar to the Washington DC sightings in 1952. And the last date, March 8, 1982, brings back memories. She remembers the Writ of Certiorari by the group known as Citizens Against UFO Secrecy. She was ready to hear the case but Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist had persuaded her otherwise. She now wishes that she had given more thought to the people’s right to know about extraterrestrial contact. The Justice pushes herself away from the computer and calls to her host. ‘Its time to go home’ she states.

6:00 PM. More people watch and listen to the news than ever before. For the first time in broadcast history, regular scheduled programming is almost entirely preempted and UFO related programs are aired throughout the evening. The issues raised in the Planetary Appeal are the focus of most of the interest. Programs range from crop circles to discussions of privately financed rockets to the moon. From UFOs to Armageddon. And ‘Klatu Barata Nicto’ is again heard on the Science Fiction channel.

6:10 PM. Bob Wolff, sales representative for a popular line of kitchenware, arrives at his Tempe, Arizona apartment and turns on the TV. He is fascinated by all the UFO stories and recalls a day in 1963 when a strange light in the sky caused his car to malfunction. Several months from now he will lie to a US Judge when, on jury selection, he is asked about his UFO experiences.

6:23 PM. But he believes that Gersten will be holding a press conference tomorrow at the press club in Washington, DC. Hundreds of documents and photographs are seized by the FBI.

8:05 PM. After the FBI leaves CAUS’ office, Greenwood removes a file from a secret drawer and places it in his briefcase.

9:10 PM. President Clinton reads the last of the 57 CIA documents. Earlier he had finished reading the 135 NSA documents. More importantly, he had also seen NASA’s classified photographs of the moon and Mars. He was in his second and final term in office. Not until today had he realized how little a US President is told about, let alone influence, world affairs. But he was determined to learn what was really going on and who was actually in control.

10:00 PM. A meeting takes place in the US Attorneys Office in Phoenix, Arizona. Assistant US Attorney (AUSA) Penny Klass is acting quickly. It was a case of kidnapping and the taking of a hostage and the sooner this UFO hysteria was over the better. She prepared a search warrant for Gersten’s apartment in Scottsdale.

10:00 PM. Extraterrestrial topics dominate the local news programs throughout the country. And on channel 12 in Phoenix, MUFON’s Arizona assistant director, Bill Hamilton, is interviewed about the repeated sightings of triangular shaped UFOs in the area over the past dew months. According to Bill, ‘thousands of people in the valley of the sun have seen these strange objects, usually on Thursday nights. The sightings started in March, then dropped off until May……when the UFOs started reappearing on a weekly basis.’

11:04 PM. Special agents Clark and Zechel execute a search warrant on Gersten’s apartment in Scottsdale. Gersten is not there. They seize a computer and several discs, thirty three files, photographs, letters, a journal, bank statements and a Timeless Journeys’ framed poster from Gersten’s bedroom. Several months from now, on cross-examination, Gersten will admit that he believes the design in the poster is that of the lost Celestial Compass of Atlantis. Also found in a drawer in the bathroom was a small bottle of Metaketamine and recovered from a drawer in the bedroom was a credit card…in the name of George Adamski.

11:30 PM. Justice O’Connor retires for the night. The last thing she remembers is seeing a strange light in the sky through the window of her cabin. Several months from now she will be placed under hypnosis and asked to recall the events of this night…before a TV audience of millions.

Other programs range from crop circles to discussions of privately financed rockets to the moon. From UFOs to Armageddon. And ‘Klatu Barata Nicto’ is again heard on the Science Fiction channel.

Episode 5

On June 28, 1947 there were 13 reported sightings. Over half of the reports came from the west. In Nevada a pilot with the US Army Air Corps sighted 5-6 circular disc-shaped objects in a tight formation while in Wisconsin, a farmer reported seeing 7-10 saucer-shaped objects.

JUNE 28, 1997

5:59 AM. The FBI receives an anonymous telephone call stating that Justice O’Connor can be found on a blue cabin cruiser located at latitude 34N07 longitude 109W56.

7:02 AM. Special agents Clark and Zechel, along with 20 other FBI agents and state police, board a boat on Lake Powell, Arizona’s largest lake. They awaken Justice O’Connor from a deep sleep. She is disoriented. No one else is found on the boat.

7:12 AM. Special agent Zechel walks over to the computer in Justice O’Connor’s cabin. On the screen is a list of the same ten dates found in the limousine. Listed next to each date is a UFO event. He walks out of the cabin still thinking about what he had just read. What were those strange objects seen over Loring AFB in 1975 and who or what abducted those three Kentucky women three months later. Was there a connection, he wondered.

7:30 AM. Justice O’Connor is taken to a nearby hospital for a complete physical examination.

7:44 AM. The FBI finds an Arizona drivers license in a second cabin on the boat. It has Gersten’s name and picture on it.

8:45 AM. Justice O’Connor is taken to the local FBI office in Flagstaff, where she is debriefed. Still somewhat confused, she initially refuses to discuss her disappearance other then describing the chauffeur. She remembers seeing a strange tattoo on his forearm when he delivered the dinner meal one night. ‘And of course…he had this strange sounding voice’ she states matter of factly. On being shown a picture of Gersten, she initially states that she has never seen him before, but on reflection does remember seeing him on the HBO video played in her cabin..

9:35 AM. As Justice O’Connor leaves the FBI office, she has a faint recollection of receiving a letter in January from a young girl living in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her name, she believes, was Rachel Gersten and she wanted to interview the Justice. ‘Now where did my secretary put that letter’ she thinks to herself. But before she can recall, she is inundated by a multitude of reporters. She has no comment.

9:40 AM. The telephone rings in the FBI office. Its the results of her medical examination. Nothing unusual or abnormal except the report did reflect what appeared to be a recent 1/4 inch triangular shaped scar at the base of her neck.

10:00 AM. Another meeting takes place in the US Attorneys Office. The evidence against Gersten is circumstantial. The drivers license, a story he wrote months earlier, a credit card and an aesthetic. Not the strongest of cases. It was decided not to execute an arrest warrant until after Gersten’s press conference in Washington. Klass hoped to use his statements against him at trial. And if she was also looking for a motive, she would soon have one.

1:00 PM. In Washington DC the press conference begins. CNN has live coverage as does ABC and CBS as well as several international networks. Its standing room only. Gersten enters the room accompanied by three individuals: John Mack, Doug Ruby and Whitley Strieber. Richard Hoagland had also been invited, but refused, citing ‘personal’ reasons.

1:10 PM. Gersten addresses the audience:

‘On June 24, 1980 I brought suit in the US District Court of the District of Columbia against the National Security Agency on behalf of my own recently formed organization, Citizens Against UFO Secrecy. My objective was 135 UFO related documents the NSA had previously refused to release. On November 18, 1980, based upon a NSA top secret affidavit, which I was not allowed to see, US District Court Judge Gerhard A. Gesell dismissed the lawsuit stating that ‘the continued need for secrecy far outweighed the public’s right to know.’ In 1981, after my appeal to the US Court of Appeals was denied, I brought a Writ of Certiorari to the US Supreme Court. On March 8, 1982, four and one-half years after the first lawsuit, the Supreme Court refused to entertain the Writ, thereby precluding me from obtaining the documents through legal channels.

It is now June 28,1997. There is credible and reliable evidence…evidence prove beyond a reasonable doubt that: 1) this planet is in contact with a non-terrestrial intelligence and 2) information about this contact is intentionally being withheld from us.

This evidence is: (1) the crop circles found primarily in England over the last several years are probably ‘communications’ involving a two dimensional blueprint for the construction of a craft capable of interdimensional travel; (2) the alleged ancient artifacts discovered on the moon and Mars, if true, either represent the ruins of a forgotten ancient advanced Earth civilization or the artifacts of a non-terrestrial intelligence; (3) the persistent UFO sightings… for something that we are told doesn’t exist, people have continually reported, over the past 50 years, unusual aerial objects that still have not been satisfactorily explained; and (4) the UFO abductions…are they what people and researchers say they are…an extraterrestrial experiment involving genetic engineering.

The undeniable proof we are looking for may be as close as our moon. We have a right to know if there are ancient artifacts at Sinus Medi. And all we have to do is look through the Hubble Space Telescope. So why are we being denied this right? Also In six days the Mars Pathfinder will land on Mars. Its first priority should be to prove or disprove the belief that there are ancient artifacts on Mars. We have the ability to find the answers…so why are we being denied this right.

June 24th marked the fiftieth anniversary of the UFO phenomenon. UFO sightings are still going on…and as recently as this week in Phoenix. But the origin and purpose of these objects are still unknown and our government tells us they don’t exist. How can our government not know what is flying in the skies over our heads. It is time to tell us the truth. Contrary to what the Supreme Court believes, we have an absolute right to know the truth. How long are we going to allow ourselves to be deceived. Isn’t it time we did something about it. Its time to come out of the UFO closet. It is now time for action.

As one of the few released NSA UFO documents states…”if you are walking along a forest path and someone yells ‘rattler’ your reaction would be immediate and defensive. You should not take time to speculate before you act. You would have to treat the alarm as if it were a real and immediate threat to your survival…it would seem a little more of this survival attitude is called for in dealing with the UFO problem.” Each of you should be mad as hell and refuse to take it anymore. On the 50th anniversary of the modern age of UFOs we should…no must… all stand up and be counted. If we do not fight for our rights we will lose them. So…what are you going to do about it? This terrestrial cover-up of an extraterrestrial contact must not continue.

2:05 PM. Gersten introduces John Mack, a Harvard professor and author of Abducted a best seller in 1994; Doug Ruby, author of The Gift and authority on the Crop Circles and Whitley Strieber, author of numerous fiction and non-fiction bestsellers, including Communion and Transformation. Gersten tells the reporters that all questions should be directed to these individuals. The first question is about the disappearance of Justice O’Connor and is directed to Gersten. He refuses to answer it. The next question involves the crop circles and is directed toward Doug Ruby. Gersten slowly walks to the back of the stage feeling a rush of confidence. It will last about 10 minutes.

2:15 PM. As Ruby, Mack and Strieber continue to answer questions, Gersten enters a back office and is quickly taken into custody by two US marshals. Intently watching from the first row of the press conference is an attractive man with a strange voice. His identification badge reads ‘foreign press corps.’ He had met Gersten five months earlier in Scottsdale.

2:25 PM. Gersten is brought to the US Attorneys Office in Washington, DC. He is read his Miranda warnings and refuses to answer any questions about Justice O’Connor’s disappearance. On being shown his drivers license and being told it was found on the boat, he states that it was stolen from his jeep on February 21st, along with two credit cards, a Hollywood Video rental card and a health club membership card. Gersten is asked by special agent Zechel to detail his whereabouts over the last 4 days. Once again he refuses to answer any questions.

3:29 PM. Gersten is officially placed under arrest for kidnapping, hostage taking, mailing threatening communications, attempting to disclose classified information and the commission of an act of terrorism. A bail hearing is set for Monday, June 30 at 9:30 AM in the US District Court of the District of Columbia…the same District Court where Gersten brought his original FOIA actions almost twenty years earlier.

5:00 PM. A second press conference takes place. This one by the US Attorneys Office and the FBI. They announce Gersten’s arrest, discuss the evidence against him and the time and location of the bail hearing. It is covered live by the major networks. Most of the media’s questions concern the Planetary Appeal. The standard answer is ‘this case involves kidnapping and an act of terrorism and any discussion of UFOs, extraterrestrial contact, or the Planetary Appeal is irrelevant.’ Another question, by a reporter with the foreign press corps, concerned the possibility of bail for Gersten. AUSA Klass replied that she would ask the judge to remand him without bail.

6:00 PM. Murders, rapes, arsons and the recent unusual earthquake activity is no longer the major topics of discussion on the evening news. Never before in the history of ufology has so much attention been focused on possible extraterrestrial contact. Once again network programming is preempted. On the CNN program, Burden of Proof, the topic is the criminal case against Gersten and any possible defenses. After much debate they arrive at one conclusion…Gersten doesn’t have any. And in Tallahassee Florida, Ed Komarek is well prepared for his CBS interview. He has been waiting since March, when the 39 cultists had taken their cosmic journey, for another chance. He hadn’t been ready for the media then…but tonight was a different story. His group, Operation Right to Know, was about to begin its own cosmic journey…but this one involved this life, not some possible afterlife. And it was in this life, Ed believed, that the public had an absolute right to know the truth.

8:23 PM. While being interviewed on the Geraldo Rivera CNBC show, Space Telescope and Science Institute (STScI) director Bob Williams states that there are no plans to disrupt the normal operations of the Hubble Space Telescope. Under questioning by Rivera, Williams admits that the telescope could, without much difficulty, be aimed at the Sinus Medi region of the moon and send back photographs…but due to present commitments, there are no plans to do so.

9:00 PM: On the Larry King show NASA director Dan Goldin is the guest. He states that the Mars Pathfinder is scheduled to take photographs of Mars including the Cydonia region. When asked whether the photographs will be shown live, Goldin states that he doesn’t believe so…and that it will probably be several months before any photos are displayed. According to Goldin, the Joint Chiefs of Staff have asked to review all photos prior to their release to the public.

9:30 PM. Justice O’Connor slips into her bed. As she rubs an unfamiliar wound on the back of her neck, she considers the possibility that she will not have to testify at Gersten’s trial.

11:00 PM. Bob Wolff turns off the TV after sixteen hours. He had called in too sick to work today. He kept awakening the night before from the same bad dream. Now exhausted he was afraid to sleep. He really doesn’t want to know what the bright light is and who the strange people are…he keeps dreaming about.

Episode 6

On June 29, 1947 there were 12 reported sightings. A Naval Research Laboratory missile expert reported sighting, at White Sands, New Mexico a full sized disc or sphere for one minute at an altitude of 8,000-10,000 ft. A bus driver in Iowa, while driving on the highway, observed 4 and then 13 inverted saucers about 200’ wide and 12’ high.

JUNE 29, 1997

7:00 AM. Its Sunday, but it isn’t the comics or the sports section that grabs everyone’s attention over morning coffee. It is a story that appears on the front page of every major newspaper in the country: WASHINGTON (AP) – Convinced there is no extraterrestrial threat, the U.S. military long ago stopped keeping track of UFOs, Pentagon spokeswoman Frieda Stanton said yesterday. Gersten’s press conference prompted a question at yesterday’s Pentagon briefing on whether the military follows UFOs. Stanton said the Air Force investigated UFO reports from 1947 to 1969, but out of 12,618 reported sightings found no evidence of extraterrestrials or even of any aircraft representing exotic technology or a threat to the United States. The Air Force stopped the practice because virtually all the UFOs it investigated were explainable as aircraft or weather phenomena and posed no threat. Asked about the possible existence of UFOs, Stanton said the US government “cannot substantiate that they exist.”

10:00 AM. Houses of worship throughout the country are overcrowded. Sermons concern the second coming, Armageddon, the Rapture, reincarnation, UFOs and alien contact. Never before have so many prayed. Fear…both by the church and the individual is the reason.

11:30 AM. President Clinton finishes reading a classified NASA report. The Orion Strategy was the code name for the artificial structures on the moon, on Mars, and on Saturn’s moon, Titan. He places the report in the fireplace. As the flames begin to consume the document, he watches as the cover’s bright red letters ABOVE TOP SECRET turn to ash. He then informs his military liaison that he wants Admiral Maccabee in his office this evening at 5:00 PM.

1:16 PM. The FBI has completed its investigation into Gersten’s statements about his license. According to the Scottsdale police, Gersten never filed a stolen property report in February or in March, though the Arizona Motor Vehicle Bureau did report that Gersten did apply for, and receive, a duplicate drivers license on February 26th.

2:22 PM. Special agent Zechel enters the Hollywood Video store in Scottsdale. According to employee Brad Sparks, their records show that Gersten reported the card stolen on February 21st. Sparks further states that he was working the next day, the 22nd, and remembers a gentleman attempting to use the stolen card. On being asked why he remembers, Sparks states ‘because of his voice….it was unusual.’ Zechel gets a description of the man and starts to leave. ‘ Oh by the way’ asks Zechel, ‘do you happen to remember the….’ ’2001 A Space Odyssey’ declares Sparks before Zechel has finished his question. ‘2001! …what section might I find that video in’ inquires Zechel.

5:05 PM. President Clinton and Admiral Maccabee meet in a special room of the White House. The room is protected against the most sophisticated eavesdropping devices. The President wants to know why he wasn’t told about the Orion Strategy. ‘Because it is no concern of yours’ replies the Admiral. ‘And if that is all you brought me here for, I am leaving’ he continues. As the Admiral starts to go, he turns towards the President and says, “you were elected by the people of this country to govern this country and nothing else. Leave the security of this planet to me.’ And as he closes the door behind him, ‘and the moon also’ he bellows. For a brief moment the President thinks about having him removed.

5:26 PM. President Clinton is disturbed. He decides that unimaginable obstacles require extraordinary measures. He realizes that he needs as many trusted supporters as possible…no matter how implausible. On a secure line in his private office, he makes a call to the home of Justice Sandra Day O’Connor in Phoenix.

8:00 PM. One million people turn on and tune in to Dreamland, Art Bell’s popular and controversial radio show from Las Vegas. Tonight’s show features a panel discussion with Doug Ruby, Whitley Strieber, Bud Hopkins, Barry Greenwood, and Richard Hoagland. Bell’s listeners, at one time, numbered over two million. It has been over 4 months since the provocative talk show host had allowed Lee Shargel and Courtney Brown to use him and his show to promote their fantasy about a companion following the Hale-Bopp comet. But Shargel is not the fool that he appears to be. He is actually a puppet for one of the the Cosmic Circle’s subgroups…the one involved in spreading disinformation. Shargel, like Bill ‘MJ 12’ Moore before him, is known in the the trade as a ‘disinformist.’ Bell, without verifying Shargel’s credentials, had given him a platform for his delusions and even embraced them on his show. A mistake, he swore, he would not repeat. He still bares the scars…the largest and most painful coming from the 39 suicides, the blame for which some critics laid partly at his microphone. ‘If only I could interview Gersten from his jail cell’ he thinks to himself as his show begins. What Bell doesn’t realize is that mistakes have a way of repeating themselves.

9:00 PM. On an unusually beautiful summer day throughout most of the country, millions of people have spent the last twelve hours at home staring at their TV sets. From Meet the Press to a special edition of Unsolved Mysteries, the paranormal programs keep coming in waves. It was a media UFO flap of unbelievable proportions. The dam had broken and there was no containing the flood. But it was not water that was getting into the eyes of the viewers…it was something called the ‘truth’ and there was a battle as to which network would find it first. Little did anyone realize that the ‘truth’ comes in many disguises.

10:10 PM. Gersten is in his jail cell at the Federal Correctional Facility in Washington DC. His anxiety, at times, is overwhelming. He had practiced the Sun Ray meditation daily for the past 8 months in anticipation of the pressure and stress. But it is the rushes of adrenaline that is causing him the most problems. The excitement was unbearable. He was becoming impatient. ‘Tomorrow will come soon enough’ he reassures himself. In March 1996 he started undergoing ‘contact’ again after 13 years. The ‘contact’ concerned a method to focus world attention on the extraterrestrial presence coupled with the public’s right to know. He originally thought it was meant to be a story. But that all changed on January 23 when he met Piranha and the story took on a life of its own. For 20 years Gersten had been a criminal trial attorney in New York City. He always felt that he was being trained for some eventual unknown purpose. And now that purpose was known and here…representing himself throughout the upcoming criminal proceedings. Everything was making sense…and going very well. It had all started in court twenty years ago…and now it was going to end in court. Finally he had what he wanted…the planets attention and he would hold it for as long as possible. The only problem was…it was no longer just a story.

Episode 7

On June 30, 1947, there were 14 reported sightings. In Arizona, a US Navy pilot spotted two circular objects approximately 8 feet in diameter, while in Idaho a forest ranger observed 8-9 disc in a V formation moving very fast.

JUNE 30, 1997

7:55 AM. In Washington DC hundreds of people gather outside the US District Court for the District of Columbia.

9:01 AM. UFO demonstrators begin to assemble outside the DC District Court carrying signs that read ‘we have the right to know the truth’ and ‘we are not alone.’ Vendors are selling buttons, banners, and T-shirts with similar slogans. As one reporter remarks to another on the surprising preparedness of the protesters and vendors, the doors of the courthouse are unlocked and a mass of bodies surge forward.

10:00 AM. US District Court Justice Joseph Moseley enters the courtroom. The bail hearing begins. The sound of the demonstrators can be heard in the background. Judge Moseley is permitting TV cameras in the courtroom to cover the hearing live, an unprecedented action for a federal proceeding. His surprise decision was prompted by an earlier, unexpected telephone call from Chief Justice Rehnquist.

10:30 AM. AUSA Klass presents her bail application…in this case a request that Gersten be held without bail. She recites the facts of the case, the seriousness of the crime, and the evidence against Gersten. Judge Moseley calls a five minute recess.

11:15 AM. Court resumes. Its Gersten’s chance to speak. He informs the judge that he will be representing himself for bail purposes. This causes a minor stir in the courtroom at which time Judge Moseley admonishes the spectators that he will not tolerate any noise. Gersten continues. He first addresses the strength of the government’s case against him arguing that it is totally circumstantial. He further argues that the story he has written is just that…a story which anyone is capable of acting out. Lastly he argues that nothing he announced at his press conference could be construed as an admission. ‘Exploiting a situation is not a crime no matter what the purpose’ he argues. On his stating that the government’s entire case is an attempt to embarrass, discredit and ridicule the UFO community on its 50th anniversary, Klass interrupts to protest the allegations. She is admonished by Judge Moseley for interrupting and asked to sit down. Gersten is also admonished and told to address his arguments to the question of bail. Gersten continues by stating that the purpose of bail is to guarantee the return of a defendant to court for trial. He continues:

‘Assuming for argument purposes only, that I am involved in Justice O’Connor’s disappearance, then my only objective was to get everyone’s attention in order to discuss the extraterrestrial presence on this planet. Thus, there was no intent on my part to commit any crime. And as your Honor knows, intent is a necessary element of each of the crimes I am charged with. My trial is part of this strategy. I am ready, willing an able to go to trial. I am looking forward to this trial. My trial will be the culmination of my efforts to get the truth out to the people. My efforts started in court twenty years ago…and twenty years later they will end in court. Therefore your honor, it is reasonable and logical to conclude that I will appear for my trial.’

Gersten then requests that he be released on his own recognizance. After a short rebuttal by AUSA Klass, Judge Moseley recesses court for thirty minutes to consider his decision.

12:30 PM. Court reconvenes. Judge Moseley, referring to some innocuous need for the safety of the public, remands Gersten without bail.

12:45 PM. The crowd outside the courthouse, now numbering in the thousands, goes wild. ‘Free Gersten’ is the chant.

2:00 PM. CAUS’ attorney, Bob Bletchman, files an appeal at the US Court of Appeals on behalf of Gersten.

3:00 PM. The US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia hears the bail appeal. Surprisingly, though no announcement was made, the media and demonstrators are once again outside the courthouse. The three Justices, all dressed in black robes, refuse to overturn Moseley’s ruling…once again denying Gersten his freedom.

4:06 PM. Bletchman files a Writ of Certiorari with the US Supreme Court. A copy is served on the US Attorneys office. The relief requested: Gersten’s release.

5:32 PM. AUSA Klass files her response. The overwhelming and sometimes intense discussion in the US Attorneys Office is whether the Supreme Court will review Judge Moseley’s decision. Some of the US attorneys believe that each Supreme Court Justice must excuse his/herself because of his/her relationship to Justice O’Connor. There was no doubt that Justice O’Connor would have to excuse herself because of the conflict. ‘Is it possible that this is a case that is incapable of Supreme Court review…something unheard of in the history of this country’ Klass wonders.

6:30 PM. Chief Justice William Rehnquist announces his decision. Gersten is to be released without the necessity of posting any bail, but subject to the terms and conditions of his Order. The release of Gersten is met in the US Attorneys Office with complete surprise and outrage. The conditions of his release are met with complete astonishment.

9:05 PM. Gersten walks out of the Washington DC correctional facility to a multitude of media and UFO buffs. On being asked at least five questions at the same time he states that a condition of his release is that he cannot discuss his case or ‘any possible defenses.’ This gag order was a prior restraint on Gersten’s right of free speech. Interestingly, on more than one occasion prior restraints of any kind, even partial, had been ruled unconstitutional by this same Supreme Court. This total ban was unprecedented in the history of the criminal justice system. And it wasn’t what Gersten had expected. Gersten had been promised, by Piranha, that he would be released during the pendency of the pretrial proceedings…and he was released. But he was also assured that he would be free to discuss the extraterrestrial presence. Though a ban on discussing ‘any possible defenses’ was not exactly a total ban on this subject…it is disturbing. ‘Something is wrong’ he mutters to himself as he enters a waiting automobile.

She recites the facts of the case, the seriousness of the crime, and the evidence against Gersten. Judge Moseley (does not call a five minute recess. ‘Mr. Gersten, I believe it is your turn’ Moseley states to a surprised Gersten. But as he is about to address the Court, Judge Moseley interrupts. ‘If your arguments are the same as those in The Ultimate Secret, you need not make them. I have read your story.’ Gersten nods in agreement and remains silent.) 3:00 PM. The US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia hears the bail appeal.

*5:32 PM. AUSA Klass files her response. (The only discussion in the US attorneys Office is Episode 7 of The Ultimate Secret and whether Rehnquist will release Gersten.)

*6:30 PM. Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court William Rehnquist releases his decision. Gersten is to be released without the necessity of posting any bail, but subject to the terms and conditions of his Order. The release of Gersten is met in the US Attorneys Office with (an eerie silence…very unusual for lawyers. It was as if they were all part of a nightmarish cosmic joke.)

Time Line Altered

For those of you reading The Ultimate Secret, I believe it is time to share some insights. Your present interest and future involvement in the storyline have altered the timeline.

A few months after the Supreme Court’s decision in 1982, I began to receive ‘messages’ involving, what I now refer to as, the storyline of The Ultimate Secret. The ‘messages’ lasted about 3 months and would come during the day as insights and at night as dreams. At one point I asked for an external ‘sign’ since I believed the ‘messages’ might simply be delusions. Within the next two or three weeks I received my ‘sign’…which left no doubt that they were not delusions. This ‘sign’ I have saved and is ample proof of ‘contact’ with another ‘intelligence.’

The ‘messages’ stopped as abruptly as they had begun and it wasn’t until March 1996 that they began again…and this time with a force that was totally consuming. During a 14 day period I continually began receiving ‘messages’ similar in nature to the ones in 1982…but this time they were clearer and more detailed. Once again they came both during the day and at night. This time I took notes…copious notes and formulated an outline for the story known as The Ultimate Secret. At first only about 70% of The Ultimate Secret was based upon these ‘messages.’ The other 30% was included by me in order to create a comprehensible narrative. This is why some of the persons and events in the story are real while others are fiction…though even the fictionalized events and people are based upon real events and individuals in the UFO field over the past 50 years.

The intensity of the ‘messages’ lasted about three weeks and though not as intense…still continue on a regular basis. In December the ‘messages’ became clearer and some of the fictionalized people and places became real. For example, the Supreme Court Justice who disappears was a fictionalized person in the story until I received a ‘message’ that the Justice is Sandra Day O’Connor.

Then in January 1997 the story took on a new meaning when some of the events in the story started to actually occur. In January I met the individual who I call Piranha in the story…and in February my license was stolen. There are other examples…but I will leave them for future Episodes.

Needless to say I started to become concerned, so in March I decided to serialize The Ultimate Secret over the Internet as a precaution. The decision to serialize The Ultimate Secret was not part of my ‘messages’ but a suggestion of a friend. This serialization has changed the timeline of the original story….and my current ‘messages’ reflect these changes. The changes involve and include you, the readers of The Ultimate Secret. The readers, or at least some of you, have included yourselves in the story by becoming involved. As an example:

CHANGED: June 24-10:47 AM. As Justice O’Connor is about to enter the limousine she hears the telephone ring. She thinks about going back inside to answer it, but decides she will retrieve the message when she returns. As she enters the limousine………………

NEW: June 24-10:48 AM. Little did she realize that in less than 12 hours she will have wished that she had never heard about, let alone read, The Ultimate Secret.

NEW: June 24-1:00 PM. AOL reader BufoCalvin calls the FBI and asks them if a Supreme Court Justice has disappeared. He is placed on hold and after 10 minutes hangs up in frustration.

NEW: June 24-5:30 PM. AOL reader Sweptawayy calls CNN and asks to speak to Miriam Szapiro.

NEW: June 24-6:45 PM. Within 15 minutes of Szapiro’s news story, AOL readers Var2, Gavin696, UFO Disk, Dr.Ufolgist, Valeriie, and three IUFO readers separately call the FBI and CNN to tell them about the similarities with the Internet story, The Ultimate Secret.

Those are just a few of the changes. As you can see the timeline has been affected. But, and most importantly, Justice O’Connor’s disappearance has not. So the story continues…with a new timeline. The future episodes will reflect this new timeline.

The changes in Episodes 1 thru 7 will be supplied to anyone on request. Thank you for your understanding… but your involvement is another issue entirely.
